Performance Series

From dance to drama to musical performances, experience the magic of theater with our new On-Stage Performance Series. Designed to inspire a love of the arts and dramatic play, monthly performances will take place in Story Time Theater or Whitaker Theater.

On-Stage Performance Series events are free with Museum admission.

We’re off to the races with the tortoise, the hare, and your St. Louis Symphony Orchestra! Explore fast and slow with flutist Jennifer Nitchman and bassist Sarah Hogan Kaiser as they tell the story of The Tortoise and the Hare with music. Who do you think will win the race: the slow tortoise or the fast hare?

Ballerina Soloist Maria Molotsiyan

This month, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the art of ballet with Maria Molotsiyan, touring cast member of “NUTCRACKER!” Maria will bring the magic of the stage to The Magic House! Witness the breathtaking artistry of the Slavic variation, a captivating showcase of precision and grace. Her passion extends beyond performance as she invites visitors to join her for a delightful and interactive dance class, inspiring the next generation of ballet lovers.

Maria Molotsiyan is the latest star to grace the stage for Talmi Entertainment’s “NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet” at The Fabulous Fox. She has become a cherished collaborator with various Ukrainian ballet companies and has performed on stages across the world.


The Nutcracker and The World’s Fair with Ballet 314

Step into the pages of “The Nutcracker & The World’s Fair!” Ballet 314 presents a short and sweet demonstration of their reimagined adaptation of the timeless tale. Audience members will get to listen to the story, dance along, and meet characters from this St. Louis inspired children’s book and ballet. 

Ballet 314 is a nonprofit professional ballet company dedicated to celebrating local talent in the St. Louis community. Their mission is to emphasize literacy through the arts via their main stage performances as well as their educational programming.


Holiday Opera with Benedetta Orsi

Explore the most popular Christmas carols and their traditions. From the timeless melodies of “Silent Night” and “Tu scendi dalle stelle” to the festive cheer of “O Tannenbaum” and the heartfelt emotions of ”Cantique de Noël.” Discover the joy and spirit of the holiday season around the world with mezzosoprano Benedetta Orsi.

Benedetta Orsi is an internationally acclaimed Italian mezzo-soprano opera singer. Benedetta has made concert appearances at Carnegie Hall in NYC and throughout Italy, Austria, England, France, Spain, Brazil, and the United States. Benedetta also performs locally with The Sheldon, Chamber Music Society, and many other venues throughout the St. Louis area.
